Update

Apparently my campaign for defeat was thwarted by well-meaning, short-sighted colleagues and so-called friends. Regardless of the results, I feel like we ran a good, smart campaign. I suppose there's always next year.

What does this mean? Were you unsuccessful in not winning? Double negative...did you win?

Congratulations Aaron! I feel like this is something you should have told me earlier! Your parents must be really proud too! I can't believe Laura didn't tell me either!

You're ignorant...teaching is not transfer. It's creation. Teachers create moments of curiosity to encourage exploration and discovery. If all you are doing is transferring what you know to someone else, you are not creating anything--well, maybe apathy.

You make an excellent point, Anonymous. But rest assured, my classroom is rife with moments of curiosity and my students learn to explore and discover. They also learn how to read satire. It's unfortunate that your inspirators at Montessori school didn't teach you that. It's a lot of fun...plus it's less smug than ad hominem. Thanks for reading.
